Since the release of the iPad there have been 100s of apps released. Many are medical apps. Established and new start up software vendors have realized the potential of this user friendly human-machine interface. It is obvious the form factor fits in well with patient encounters face-to-face. The rest of the obvious is to develop the software to fit in. The iPad is set up for cloud computing in it's present form. It has wifi and 3G built in as well. Use it in your home, or where ever you are.
