A meningioma is a tumor of the cells that encase the brain and spinal cord. These cells are known as meningeal cells.

Diagnosis

Diagnosis of meningioma is made by imaging studies, usually magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Confirmation of the diagnosis is determined by examination of biopsy tissue obtained at surgery.
