Withdrawl Symptoms
Withdrawal symptoms are normal and expected when quitting tobacco. While the symptoms can be very unpleasant, it is important to remember that the body is undergoing a natural healing process after years of having to cope with harmful chemicals and gases. Withdrawal symptoms are temporary, and most will subside 1 to 2 weeks after quitting.
Symptoms include:
- dysphoric or depressed mood
- insomnia
- irritability, frustration, or anger
- anxiety
- difficulty concentrating
- restlessness
- decreased heart rate
- increased appetite or weight gain
