Talk:Influenza A H1N1

The former article-page Swine Flu is now a redirect page that re-routes the users who go there to the article that accompanies this discussion: Influenza A H1N1. I don't know if we have any "disambiguation pages" yet -- there's a lot of information on the concept at Wikipedia's "wp:Dab" page -- but this seems like an example of a real need for them: some users will type "swine flu" in order to read up on the 1918 pandemic, and MedPedia should have an article on that too, rather than just the current one.

Without your having to wade thru all the nuances of that WP treatise, here's what our disambiguation page for "Swine Flu" could look like:

Swine Flu may refer to:

(That's the beginning of a disambiguation page in the WP-prescribed style, except the red "1918 Influenza Epidemic" would become blue if someone created the page. But we can presumably work out our own style if there's reason to differ.)

As with the redirect page, seeing it in action is much more informative than my mockup above. I'd be uncomfortable setting it up in place of the current redirect, before there's an article. But someone could start an article. (There is, for instance, lots of info at WP's "1918 flu pandemic" article, which you editors are entitled to copy character for character if you want to, or change to suit our needs, or just draw a half dozen facts from until we have time to draw on better sources.) At that point, I'll set up the disambiguation page if there's no one anxious to try it themself.
