Working Paper. Introduction: Wireless Capsule Endoscopy is a novel tool that allows video imaging of the entire small intestine. The capsule passes naturally through the small intestine, capturing images as it passes. These images are transmitted to a data recorder worn in a belt around the waist by the patient. The procedure typically typically takes 8-hours. Patients can go about their usual day. The capsule passes into the colon and is single use. Two Wireless Capsule Systems are available for use today, one from Given Imaging, LTD, and one from Olympus Corp, America.
